This month we speak to Jane Mills, owner of Van Dyk's Hairdressing Salon.

What is the best thing about working at Milford Waterfront?

The best thing about working at Van Dyk’s Salon has to be the great views I get to see each day, not forgetting the fantastic atmosphere too. There really is something different to see every day which makes it so enjoyable.

Is there anything people should know about Van Dyk's that they may not know?

People may not know that we have been located at Milford Waterfront for over 15 years!

Our salon also offers all types of hairdressing, so we provide our customers a personal and tailored service every time. However, we don’t do hair extensions!

Some people may not know that my son Dan Mills owns another popular business on Milford Waterfront – Martha’s Vineyard.

Have you got any special skills or talents?

I enjoy all my hairdressing skills. I think my favourite thing to do is styling hair, especially a complete re-style!

What is your favourite haircut to give at Van Dyk's and why?

I do like lots of styles and different haircuts! But if I had to choose one, it would definitely be a short pixie cut that I enjoy most.

What has been your favourite day in work and why?

Every day is a good day in work. But my favourite and most memorable day in work was back in 2016 when we celebrated our 10 year anniversary located at Milford Waterfront.
