Meet the Faces of Milford Waterfront: Salt on the Strand

We regularly feature the people behind the businesses at Milford Waterfront. We speak to everyone from artists and chefs to personal trainers to learn about their special skills and talents, their favourite dishes and items for sale, what they enjoy most about working at Milford Waterfront and lots more!

This time we speak to Alistair Richardson, Director of Salt on the Strand, the new surf and coastal wear shop stocking clothing and accessories for men, women and children by popular brands including Rip Curl, Lazy Jacks and Havaianas.

What is the best thing about working at Milford Waterfront?

It is great to be a part of the ‘Milford Waterfront’ journey. We have lived in Milford Haven all our lives and we’ve watched the marina develop into a destination that is in keeping with the maritime history of Milford.

Milford Waterfront is becoming a great place to spend a few hours strolling around, taking in the views of the boats at Milford Marina and enjoy the various outlets that are on offer here. We are pleased that we can put something back into Milford.

Is there anything people should know about Salt on the Strand that they may not know?

We also have a shop in Saundersfoot, so it is worth asking if you can’t see something that you’re looking for or a specific size, as we may have this in the other store.

Have you got any special skills or talents?

My wife Sal is the person who sets out the direction of the business and her interpersonal skills shine through when dealing with customers!

What is your favourite item at the business and why?

I can’t say I have a favourite, but I do enjoy it when I see a customer giving good feedback on the shop or any item that we sell as this makes you feel that you are going in the right direction.

What has been your favourite day in work and why?

My favourite days are bright sunny days when everyone has a spring in their step. It really makes a difference on the waterfront.
