This time we speak to Hollie Phillips, Milford Waterfront's Events Assistant!

How long have you worked here? 

I started my new role as Events Assistant 2 months ago but have been working at the Port of Milford Haven for 1 year.

What is the best thing about working at Milford Waterfront?

The best thing is working with such an amazing team in my hometown of Milford Haven.  

Being able to actively contribute and be a part of the future of the town that I grew up in and seeing it thrive is such a fantastic experience.  

Additionally, having the picturesque Milford Marina as my view every day in work is a bonus! 

What do you find most rewarding in your role? 

It’s such an amazing feeling to see the success of events I’ve helped organise, and I absolutely love being able to get creative with the campaigns and events we coordinate! 

Moreover, this role is very sociable, which is great as I am a people person. 

What has been your most memorable day in work at Milford Waterfront so far?

It would have to be the day of Milford Haven Round Table’s Big Beer Festival. As our first event of Summer Fest, it was incredible to see the amount of people attending the event we helped coordinate.  

It was fantastic to watch our community come together to enjoy the sunshine and lively atmosphere at Milford Waterfront - it was a great day, and the event was a great success! 

Is there anything people should know about Milford Waterfront that they may not know? 

The amount of dedication and consideration that the team has for the community with everything we do, we take immense pride in our location and the people who make it so special. 

This year, we also look forward to the arrival of not one, but two cruise ship visits at Milford Haven. It's a fantastic opportunity for visitors from around the globe to witness first-hand the beautiful place we call home. 

Have you got any special skills/talents or hobbies? 

Apart from silly party tricks, I have a knack for planning fun events and creating eye-catching designs on Canva, I like to think that I am a personable and creative person! 

When it comes to hobbies, I enjoy swimming, going to the beach (there’s plenty to choose from!), socialising with friends and trying food from local restaurants.
